Rise early to the smell of fresh coffee and throw open the curtains: you’ll be half-expecting to see the ocean. In fact, this warmly elegant home is in the heart of the city. If the atmosphere is European – stucco walls, venerable antique furniture and abundant greenery – then the location’s London through and through. The museums are around the corner and you’re close to the shops of bustling Kensington High Street. Knightsbridge, Kensington Gardens and Sloane Square are all within an easy stroll but we strongly encourage you to break your journey for an al fresco brunch in one of the gorgeous pavement cafés.
Been around the world
Your hostess is a consultant who’s circled the globe, picking up fascinating art and furniture along the way. She renovated her apartment herself and cherishes the high ceilings and its south-facing disposition.

See the light
Look first to the textured walls finished by an artist who usually paints cathedrals. Then to the enormous fireplace in which nestles a traditional South American coffee grinder. Beautiful pieces of furniture are everywhere, from a grandfather clock and a chandelier to a hand-carved chair, and so too are books, photos and luscious plants.

The rustic kitchen is a cook’s paradise, the balcony ideal for breakfast with the birds. And there’s a holiday atmosphere in the enormous master bedroom, with its daybed, seaside oil painting and a wooden floor the exact hue of golden sand.

This home not suitable for babies, toddlers or children.

The communal areas in this home’s building are currently being renovated. This shouldn’t disturb your stay, but the presentation of the hallways is affected.

The bed in the double bedroom is a small double. It can sleep one person comfortably and two people at a squeeze.

This home doesn’t have air conditioning. Between June and September, we’ll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you’d like fans outside the summer period.

The hosts’ cleaner will visit on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm for about 1 hour. They have a key to let themselves into the home.

The host’s gardener will attend to water the plants on a Friday between 5 and 6pm.

The lead guest must be at least 25 years of age.


When you arrive we secure a £1,000 hold on your credit or debit card. The amount is held by your bank until we confirm that no damage was caused during your stay. We will release the hold within five days after your departure, but it can take your bank longer to process the request from the credit or debit card company. If you do damage anything it’s always best to let us know before you leave. And once you depart, if we find any damage, we’ll get in touch immediately.
