In black and white
Minutes from the verdant greenery of Regent’s Park, Devonshire Place is both refined and urban. The aesthetic is chic – from the daring scarlet and black in the sitting room, to the soft tones of the bedrooms and bathrooms. Follow minimal white walls through to the tranquil master bedroom, where slate upholstery is a stark contrast to ivory curtains. And the masterwork of this carefully curated abode is just as clear – the decked garden, with its cushioned benches, is the perfect place to enjoy a solitary sojourn by day, or a glass of wine by night.
Lawyers by trade, your host and her partner divide their time between Devonshire Place and the vibrant city of Brussels. With the help of her daughter, your host has ensured her home is as striking as its surroundings.
Paint the town red
Unique and fashionable, Marylebone retains that ever-rare villagey feel. Along its high street you’ll find Daunts – a long-established bookshop – as well as organic delicatessens and a plethora of stylish boutiques. Yet Devonshire Place is a contrastingly contemporary counterpart.
From the cushions to the fluffy rugs and the artistically held candles, vivid red brushes each room, while the kitchen’s sleek grey fittings are achingly hip. And whether you settle inside or out, you’re sure to be tickled pink.
