Whether you like the bohemian style of Brick Lane or Camden or the classy ambience of Leadenhall and New Covent Garden, visiting a market is a must for anyone visiting London. Spitalfields Market Spitalfield’s Market is just around the corner from Brick Lane Market so if you fancy it you can do both. This market is noticeably upmarket with the market being surrounded by beautiful boutiques and designer shops. The market itself offers fashionable clothes, handmade gifts and artwork so is great for picking up cool souvenirs. You can stop off in a lovely coffee shop and watch the world go by and everyone browsing the market. Brick Lane Market Brick Lane Market and is a different experience to Spitalfields. It may not be as posh but it is one vibrant place to be. A total shock to the senses is the indoor food market where you can munch on any cuisine from every corner of the world and of which also caters for niche food groups such as vegan and vegetarian. In the Backyard Market there are lots of small businesses presenting hand crafted t shirts, wallets and jewellery along with more generic market purchases. If you’re into vintage stores… Brick Lane area is coming down with them so is definitely one for trendy professionals or those who love something different and quirky. Camden Market Camden Market is slightly more touristy than Brick Lane although Brick Lane gets its fair share of tourists. If you don’t like a busy, noisy, bohemian crowd then avoid this market. But If you like a busy market, bars and a walk along the Thames River then Camden is a great place to go! This is because you can visit the vast arrange of stalls in the market. Let’s be honest there is some stalls with generic tat available but also some gem’s with hand-made gifts and you can have a bite to eat in the cool little food market and watch the barges in London’s famous river. Eat15 Street Food Festival Stratford This is a new gastronomic market from the Olympic Park borough of Newham. It is on every first Saturday of the month from 12-6pm. The market is housed in the courtyard of Startford’s Old Town Hall which is a listed building. This markets displays London’s unique food diversity which is something our city is very proud of.  Food ranges from Caribbean, Chinese to Middle Eastern, US, Spanish and more. To add to this, anticipate music and hot and cold drinks served from a bar. Leadenhall Market Leadenhall Market is located in the City of London area set beneath a beautiful Victorian building where you can find some of the finest food in London. So it is great whether you are working in London or on holiday! Stalls sell meat, cheese and other food so you can pick up some quality food to prepare in your serviced apartment. Plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops surround the market too. Some say it is a hidden gem so worth a visit. Borough Market If you are a foodie like me, this is complete heaven! The produce is well sourced and well priced and many of the traders produce the food themselves right from field or farm or family production. And other traders offer well sourced imports that showcase the variety of wonderful food from around the world. Along with the stalls bursting with delicious produce and cuisine, there are many cafes, bars and restaurants within the market to dine at. The market is open for lunch from 10 am – 3 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. And the full market is open Thursdays from 11 am – 5 pm, Fridays 12 noon – 6 pm and Saturdays 8 am – 5 pm. You can find Borough market in London’s Southwark area and the nearest underground and tube station is London Bridge. Covent Garden Market New Covent Market is a great choice for a little leisurely wander. Slightly quieter than other markets but you will find lots of hand crafted goodies… although quite pricy and all encased under a beautiful building. Greenwich Market Greenwich Market is a joy to visit. It isn’t very big but the whole area of Greenwich near the Cutty Sark is very underrated! An upmarket vibe is very noticeable when you get off the underground and visit this town like area of London. So much maritime history and the market provides little bespoke offerings and quality food all around. Once you have seen the market you can wander the quaint streets of boutiques and many excellent restaurants and old English pubs.
