You can’t beat the vibe of London on New Year’s Eve. But we know that this year you may be wondering if it’s worth booking your London New Year’s Eve accommodation, or whether it would be best to hold off this year. The good news is that we are bursting with suggestions to make your New Year’s celebrations in London absolutely fantastic, despite the restrictions caused by coronavirus.
Choose a central place to stay
The London New Year fireworks are cancelled for 2020, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have an amazing time. We recommend staying right in the heart of the action as with current Tier 2 regulations in force, restaurants and bars will close their doors at 11pm. This means that you can head back to your accommodation and ring in the New Year in a personal way with your loved ones. By booking a central London apartment, you can decorate it and get the champagne on ice, ready for your midnight celebrations. You’ll have a TV for watching the chimes of Big Ben, or of course, you could head over there to watch it actually happen!
Head out for dinner and drinks early
The good news is that you can still go out for dinner and drinks with your loved ones, assuming London remains in Tier 2. The only issue is that you will need to be done by 11pm. So go out early and make the most of all the fabulous New Year’s dining experiences. If you still feel a little anxious about dining in an open restaurant, why not book a cosy igloo or lodge? London is awash with igloos this New Year’s Eve. Try Skylight, Bar Elba, Aviary, Jimmy’s, Pergola Paddington or The Sipping Room. Remember that Tier 2 rules mean that you need to order something ‘substantial’ with drinks, so make the meal out the central part of your evening.
Be hopeful about NY celebrations
Tier allocations are due to be reviewed before New Year’s Eve and some London events are hoping they will be able to go ahead. Be optimistic and book for a London New Year’s Eve celebration, knowing that you’ve got wonderful luxury accommodation or other ideas to fall back on, should they be cancelled. A few ideas include:
- New Year’s Eve at Jin Bo Law
- Last Sunset at Gong (or you could go for First Sunrise on New Year’s Day!)
- New Year at the White Mansion
Make New Year’s Eve special and luxurious
This year you won’t be able to celebrate with the masses. So instead, select your absolute favourite people to ring in the New Year with. Focus on luxury and loved ones and think about the little touches. When you choose to stay in a London serviced apartment, you can really make the most of a cosy and special New Year’s Eve. It may be different this year, but it needn’t be miserable. Even if you decide to stay in, with your own apartment you can order in some delicious food, pop on your favourite tunes, and enjoy each other’s company.
