The client

Our client is a London-based investment management company that regularly needs accommodation for individual employees travelling to or staying in London.

Rather than one large annual accommodation programme, the requirements arise at different times and for different travellers. Each booking can therefore involve a different location, apartment type, stay length or operational requirement.

Finding the apartment is only one part of the service. Corporate travellers and their employers may still need support after the booking has been made.

The requirement

The company needed a reliable accommodation partner that could assist with recurring employee stays while also remaining available when circumstances changed after a reservation had been confirmed.

This is particularly important with corporate travel. An employee's work schedule may change, an internal approval may take longer than expected, a stay may need to be extended, or an unexpected issue may arise at the accommodation.

In each case, the corporate travel contact needs someone who already understands the booking and can help coordinate the next step.

How LSA supported the client

1. Separate accommodation requirementsLSA assisted with individual employee bookings as requirements arose, rather than treating every stay as part of a single fixed programme.
2. Managing an extension requestDuring one employee stay in Paddington, the client asked whether the booking could be extended. LSA checked the extension with the accommodation provider and confirmed that the employee's existing nightly rate of £180 + VAT could continue.
3. Working around internal approvalWhen the client's internal approval for the extension was not yet ready, LSA withdrew the request rather than committing the client prematurely. The extension could then be requested again later, subject to availability.
4. Helping when an arrival problem occurredOn another booking in Belgravia, the employee arrived to find that the accommodation provider believed the reservation had been cancelled after a recorded no-show. The client contacted LSA and the team became involved in helping coordinate the issue with the provider.
5. Ongoing booking administrationLSA also provided practical support with the day-to-day administration surrounding the bookings, including correcting booking information when an address or postcode issue was identified and working around the client's internal payment and approval processes.

Why this matters for corporate travel

A confirmed reservation does not always mean that the accommodation requirement is finished. Corporate stays can continue to evolve right up to arrival and sometimes during the stay itself.

For a travel manager, personal assistant, HR team or other corporate booker, having an experienced accommodation partner provides continuity. Instead of starting again each time something changes, the client can return to a team that already has the booking history and can liaise with the accommodation provider.

That ongoing support is particularly valuable when the traveller is already in London and an issue needs attention quickly.

The outcome

The relationship demonstrates how LSA can support a corporate client across multiple separate employee stays while remaining involved beyond the initial property search.

The value is not simply access to serviced apartments. It is the combination of accommodation sourcing, booking coordination, amendments, extension support and a familiar point of contact when an unexpected problem occurs.

LSA Partnership Guide

Two service principles demonstrated in this case

Ongoing booking management

Extensions, amendments and changing requirements can continue after the original reservation has been confirmed. LSA can remain involved in coordinating those changes with the accommodation provider.

In-stay and problem support

If an accommodation issue arises, the corporate client has an LSA team to contact that can help liaise with the traveller and provider rather than leaving the traveller to resolve the situation alone.
