Leisure Case Study
How London Serviced Apartments looked beyond the original accommodation search to find a spacious London home where a large family could stay, spend time together and celebrate a special occasion.
Our client was planning a two-week summer visit to London involving two families travelling together.
With a large group staying for 14 nights, finding the right accommodation was about considerably more than simply finding enough beds.
The family wanted somewhere comfortable where everyone could stay together, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy their time in London.
During the stay, one of the children would be celebrating a birthday, and the family hoped to use the occasion to bring relatives and friends together.
The accommodation therefore needed to work not only as somewhere to stay, but as a genuine home for the family during their time in London.
The enquiry initially focused on particular London locations and larger apartment accommodation.
Our team researched the market, contacting a number of established accommodation providers and considering different ways of meeting the family's requirements.
There were conventional serviced apartment and suite options available, including the possibility of dividing the group between multiple apartments.
But from our conversations with the client, we felt there was another solution worth considering.
Rather than concentrating only on the locations originally requested, we suggested a large, professionally managed luxury home in a different part of London.
It offered something particularly valuable for this trip: space.
Choosing a substantial private home for a family holiday is a significant decision, particularly when it is different from the accommodation originally envisaged.
Rather than expecting the client to make that decision solely from an online listing and photographs, LSA worked with the accommodation provider to arrange a viewing of the home before the booking was finalised.
Our team coordinated the appointment between the client and the property representatives and remained involved while the arrangements were confirmed.
The viewing gave the client an opportunity to see the space for herself and decide whether it would genuinely work for the family.
She liked what she saw, and the home was subsequently booked for the family's 14-night London stay.
Once the accommodation was confirmed, our involvement did not end with issuing the booking confirmation.
The family told us that they wanted to celebrate one of the children's birthdays during their stay.
There were already 14 guests staying at the home, and the family hoped to invite additional relatives and friends to join them for a daytime family gathering.
Because the number of people attending would be greater than the home's normal overnight occupancy, this was something that needed to be discussed properly with the people responsible for the property.
LSA liaised with the home's management team on the family's behalf.
Questions about the proposed number of guests, timing and arrangements were discussed, and the management team in turn needed to obtain the homeowner's agreement.
Our team remained involved in the conversation, relaying information between the family and the property team and helping to make sure everyone understood what was being proposed.
For this family, the property was not simply a base from which to visit London.
It provided somewhere they could live together for two weeks.
There was space to sit together, space for different members of the family to relax and, importantly for this particular trip, space in which a special family occasion could become part of the holiday.
LSA also remained available once the family had arrived.
The accommodation provider supplied its guest services and operational support, while our team continued to act as an additional point of contact for the booking.
Where practical matters needed attention, communication could continue between the guests, LSA and the people managing the home.
The family enjoyed their London stay — and their reaction afterwards perhaps says more than we could.
“Had a beautiful experience, service was top notch… enjoyed every bit of our stay, we all had fun, the comfort too… definitely recommending you guys❤️❤️”
For us, the particularly pleasing words are “we all had fun.”
Because that was ultimately what this accommodation search was about: helping to find a place where a family could enjoy being together.
A client's initial search criteria are the starting point — not necessarily the final answer.
By understanding the wider reason for a trip, our team can sometimes identify accommodation that the client may not initially have considered.
For a large family holiday, the right accommodation is not simply somewhere everyone can sleep. It can be somewhere to have breakfast together, relax after a day exploring London, spend time with relatives and celebrate the occasions that make a family trip memorable.
